Monthly Meeting Minutes August 2024
The Club voted we would have a 2 Day Event which is now slated for November. The Club voted that it will be held at Stillhouse. We will pinpoint Fishing Times and Format at the next meeting.
The Club voted to incorporate the Constitution Edits from the Previous meeting. It was quick and easy. Mickey was relieved but also offended as he was prepared to go through everything line by line. 🙂

Bobby F's Recap - I caught most of my keepers in the early morning low light on a black super flukes and a black senko rigged both wacky style and weightless Texas rigged. They were caught in the grass in front of the reeds. I caught some keepers that were schooling on a Diawa jerkbait. My last good fish came in the last half hour on a Texas rigged trick worm on the outside edge of the grass in front of the reeds.
Trevor's Recap - I started our with the ned along the dam. Caught some keepers. Caught a schooling keeper on my big 7" chad shad in open water. on a point Then I went into the reeds and slop with my favorite ½oz green JMAC Swim Jig. And Houdi colored Reaction Innovation Skinny Dipper trailer. I wasn't swimming it. I was pitching it into the reeds. Letting it fall. And first fish was one of my 5's. So I knew some good fish were up in the reeds. I missed 2 good fish shortly after that. Saw them but didn't get a hook in them. But just kept grinding along. And started catching good fish consistently throughout remainder of the day. Caught another one over 5. Sometimes I'd be pulling it up towards the top where the grass was matted and they'd eat it just before it got to the top. There seemed to be a lot of perch along the reeds. Bobby and Chester mentioned they were spawning. Definitely seemed to be what the bass were feeding on which my swim jig imitates well.
Zach's Recap - We started by the cold water intake and picked up 1 fish on a top water it went 5.60 … then we moved over to the cove next to the hot water discharge and fished the submerged grass anywhere from 2 ft to 8ft . We threw mostly Texas rigs , jerk baits, Carolina rigs , and weightless 8 inch power worms . Most of the fish came of the 4 inch trick worm redbug junebug slowly dragging it through the grass .. the weightless power worms we would drag them over the open pockets of the grass on top .. it was not bite after bite all day but the bites we did get were good fish … we had 19 fish total 17 were keepers .
